Insta-celeb Ayu Aulia Hospitalized After Botched Suicide Attempt in South Jakarta

The authorities suspected she was trying to commit suicide by injuring certain parts of her body to end her life.

Social media has speculated wildly on Ayu Aulia's motive for suicide. She was initially reported of intending to end her life due to a love affair. But as the model gained consciousness, she revealed the true motive, which was not related to her love life. The reason was revealed by Aulia herself through one of her colleagues' Instagram accounts, @fahmiaditian.

Meanwhile, the police are still investigating the motive behind her suicide attempt.

Quoted from PMJ News, the Head of the Setiabudi Metro Police Police Commissioner Beddy Suwendi said it was initially assumed the victim was experiencing stress.

"For the [suicide] motive, Ayu is stressed out. That's all for now," Suwendi told reporters on Wednesday, February 23, 2022. "We will wait for Ayu to stabilize, then we will ask for more information."

Even so, Suwendi admitted the police did not clearly know what caused the model to be so stressed out.

The victim is currently under medical treatment, therefore, can not be asked for more information.

"We haven't gotten there yet [regarding the allegedly stressed motive]. She is still being treated for her injuries. So far [the family] has not yet spoken, if you talk to her (Ayu Aulia), [she'd say] it's just stress," he said.

The model Ayu Aulia was previously found lying covered in blood in the Kuningan area, Setiabudi, South Jakarta. The victim was suspected of attempting suicide by slashing her hand.

"It is suspected that it was an attempted suicide, which we are still investigating. We are still asking for statements from witnesses at the location," Police Commissioner Beddy Suwendi told reporters.
