JAKARTADAILY.ID – PDI Perjuangan Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto welcomed the United Development Party's (PPP) cooperation in supporting Ganjar Pranowo as a presidential candidate in the upcoming 2024 election.
"As a follow-up to this, the PDI Perjuangan DPP will receive Acting Chairman of the PPP Muhamad Mardiono and his staff at the PDIP office to discuss and have deeper dialogue directly," Hasto said on Friday, April 28, 2023.

Hasto explained that the meeting would take place on Sunday, April 30, 2023, at 14.00 WIB, and it would be the first opportunity to meet with Mrs. Megawati Soekarnoputri to strengthen political cooperation.
"The cooperation between the two parties will be solid to strengthen the presidential system in a party system that places the people as the holder of the highest sovereignty," Hasto added.
Hasto highlighted that PPP's track record is historically compatible with PDI Perjuangan, both of which were representatives of the oppressed during the New Order era, resulting in a unique relationship that was united by a feeling of shared destiny.
"Cooperation with PPP is very positive, and it further strengthens the winning energy of the 2024 Presidential Election," said Hasto.
Regarding political cooperation, Hasto stated that the first investment was with political parties in the government of President Jokowi - KH Maruf Amin, except for political parties that had declared their own presidential candidates.
"Second, placing aspects of national-populist ideology, history, culture, and suitability for future agendas. Third, it cannot be denied that cooperation also strengthens the electoral aspects of presidential candidates," he said.
Hasto believed that cooperation with PPP would broaden the voter base and reflect a picture of Indonesia from an electoral perspective.
