JAKARTADAILY.ID – Governor of West Java (West Java) Ridwan Kamil reminded regents/mayors to maintain regional inflation ahead of Ramadan and Eid respectively.

Funds for efforts to control inflation can now be taken from Unexpected Expenditures (BTT). In the past, BTT was indeed devoted to disaster, but now BTT can be used to control inflation.

By using BTT, the absorption of postal development funds will not be reduced. The economy continues, and people can focus on worship.

To control inflation, the Governor also urged residents to buy domestic products.

"Shop local," said Ridwan Kamil at the High-Level Meeting of the Regional Inflation Control Team (TIPD) - Bank Indonesia at the Mason Pine Hotel, Kota Baru Parahyangan, West Bandung Regency, Thursday, March 16, 2023.

Regional heads also need to anticipate homecoming flows which are one of the causes of inflation. The Ministry of Transportation predicts that there will be 123 million travelers in West Java and which is a significant increase from the previous year. This is due to the Covid-19 pandemic starting to decline.

For this reason, the West Java Provincial Government focuses on three things. First, West Java's digital access which ranks in the top three must be optimized so that public services are fully digital so that people remain productive during the month of Ramadan.

Second, monitor the conductivity of West Java traffic as a homecoming route and tourist destination.

Third, anticipating price increases by utilizing vacant land, to maintain the availability of food production so as not to buy it directly from other provinces, let alone imports from abroad.

"If production is safe, prices continue to rise, it means that the trading system, which was agreed upon earlier, will release which regions have a surplus, which commodities, which regions have a deficit," explained Ridwan Kamil.

"So those who are in deficit don't buy first from other provinces. Just go to friends of the regents or mayors who have a surplus. So don't import them directly," he said.

The High-Level Meeting at Mason Pine was assembled with the Regional Head Development Communication (Kopdar) event throughout West Java.
