Calvin Kizana Appointed to Lead WhatsApp in Indonesia

JAKARTADAILY.ID – WhatsApp, a text messaging app owned by Meta (Facebook) for the first time chose a leader to maintain and develop its services in Indonesia by appointing Calvin Kizana as the first Head of WhatsApp in Indonesia.

His position will be active as of November 28, 2022, and will lead from the WhatsApp office in Jakarta. Calvin has more than 20 years of experience as an entrepreneur, leader, founder, and advisor in technology.

Prior to joining WhatsApp, Calvin worked as COO of GoPlay, a live-streaming platform company from Gojek. Calvin also founded two successful startups: Playday, a live-streaming platform, and PicMix, a social media platform.

Calvin is actively involved in the startup scene in Southeast Asia and has served as a mentor and advisor to several of them. And in 2014, Calvin was awarded digital entrepreneur of the year by Ernst and Young.
