JAKARTADAILY.ID – Ericsson Indonesia introduced Radio 6626 as a support for the realization of Sustainable and equitable digitalization in Indonesia.
Radio 6626 is a new portfolio of energy-efficient radios. The latest addition to Ericsson's radio portfolio provides multi-standard and multi-band coverage while lowering costs and reducing footprint - up to 50 percent lower energy consumption.
Radio 6626 is being implemented in the Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison (IOH) Network Integration and Capacity Building Project to provide an exceptional customer experience.

A unique dual-band three-sector radio, Radio 6626 from Ericsson is designed to minimize the footprint by keeping weight to a minimum and allowing for the reuse of existing cables.
By reducing its footprint, Ericsson supports the Indonesian government's commitment to reducing carbon emissions and promoting Sustainable business development.
Jerry Soper, Head of Ericsson Indonesia, said that his party is committed to supporting digitalization and enabling Sustainable business growth by reducing the number of radios installed in towers from six to one.

“The launch of the sophisticated and energy-efficient Radio 6626 in Indonesia will help Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison (IOH) to reduce network power consumption and increase capacity significantly. In addition, we believe that through this solution we can accelerate digital transformation in Indonesia and support the government to achieve the Net Zero Emission (NZE) target by 2060 or even sooner," he explained in a press statement, Thursday, October 20, 2022.
Desmond Cheung, Chief Technology Officer of Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison said, IOH together with strategic partners is committed to continuing to provide world-class digital experiences. He believes collaboration and innovation will support IOH to provide customers with a great user experience.
“We are very pleased to be a part of the introduction of Radio 6626, where this Radio also helps us to minimize power consumption and tower weight using green technology which is in line with our efforts to reduce our carbon footprint for a better environment,” he said.

Ericsson Radio 6626 will support IOH with features that will increase capacity while enabling efficient site upgrades and speeding up the time-to-market (TTM) of various 5G services.
In addition, Radio 6626 will enable full spectrum utilization which will increase IOH cost savings and provide a better customer experience.
