BSSN Holds Talks Regarding Cybersecurity and Identifying Critical Assets During the 2022 G20 in Bali

JAKARTADAILY.ID – Indonesian National Cyber ​​and Crypto Agency (BSSN) held talks regarding the newly ratified Presidential Decree No. 82 of 2022 and a workshop on the "Identification of Critical Assets in Vital Information Infrastructure" in an effort to secure cybersecurity for the 2022 G20 Presidency in Bali on Thursday, September 8, 2022.

The talks are part of strengthening national cyber security governance and are a follow-up to the ratification of Presidential Decree No. 82 of 2022 concerning the Protection of National Vital Information Infrastructure on May 24, 2022.

"There needs to be a workshop on identifying critical assets in the vital information infrastructure sector, involving the IT team and public relations for every stakeholder," said Deputy Head of BSSN Commissioner General of Police Luki Hermawan in a press statement, reported Monday, September 12, 2022.

Luki said that this workshop is one of the various preparations for dealing with security activities at the G20 Summit in November 2022. In this workshop, various related parties carry out synergies, collaborations, and commitments in efforts to prepare for national cyber attacks, especially during the G20 Summit Presidency event.

"BSSN invites all stakeholders to be able to contribute according to their fields so that all forms of cyber threats and attacks can be overcome through optimal cyber security management," said Luki.

Presidential Decree No. 82 of 2022 is a legal basis for certainty and guidance in protecting strategic sectors that are important for the continuity of essential services for the community and the state in general.

Sector VII in Presidential Decree No. 82 of 2022 consists of several sectors including government administration, energy and mineral resources, transportation, finance, health, information and communication technology, food, defense, and other sectors as determined by the president.
