JAKARTADAILY.ID - Kacific Broadband Satellites Group (Kacific), in cooperation with PT Indo Pratama Teleglobal (Teleglobal) has settled a large-scale mobile backhaul service for an undisclosed telecommunication operator in Indonesia.
Kacific Broadband Satellites Group is a satellite-broadband Internet company headquartered in Singapore. The company has provided high-speed access to internet services to clients in Southeast Asia and the Pacific.
Meanwhile, Teleglobal offers some communication services and solutions in fixed-line, data, mobile and Internet, and multimedia.
In a joint statement received by JakartaDaily.id, the cooperation between Kacific and Teleglobal, is claimed to have been successful in connecting hundreds of locations in Indonesia over the past year to receive 4G services through Ka-Band high-throughput satellite owned by Kacific.
In a statement from the Telecommunication and Information Accessibility Agency (BAKTI), an agency under the supervision of the Ministry of Communication and Informatics (Kominfo), over Indonesia's high demand for mobile backhaul services, especially for the frontier, outermost, and least developed regions or locally referred to as 3T.
The Ministry of Communication and Informatics, together with BAKTI, is tendering projects to telco companies in Indonesia to develop nearly 8,000 base transceiver stations (BTS) until the end of 2022.
"The telecommunication industry in Indonesia is expanding its networks and capacity to fulfill the high demand of data (services) from the government as well as the general public," Candra Bramono Indianto, a director at Teleglobal said.
He said with help from Kacific's high-tech satellite, Teleglobal can connect BTS fast to help telecommunication companies. This service is followed by high bandwidth volume and high bandwidth availability, he said.
