"Alhamdulillah, the launch went well. This is a great achievement and a success thanks to the prayers of the Indonesian people," he said after witnessing the launch of SATRIA-1 at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida, United States, on Sunday, local time.
The launch of SATRIA-1 was delayed by 17 minutes from the original schedule of 18:04 local time or 05:04 AM Western Indonesian Time (WIB), but it was still within the launch time window.
Arief explained that after this, SATRIA-1 would be monitored by Thales Alenia Space to ensure that all the devices function properly.
"Hopefully, all the devices in SATRIA-1 can work well, including the solar cells and antennas, and can be controlled from the ground station," he explained.

"Hopefully, all the stages will go smoothly so that it can occupy the orbit in November 2023," he said.
SATRIA-1 was launched using SpaceX's Falcon 9 rocket. It is the first multifunctional satellite owned by the Government with the largest capacity in Asia. The Government hopes that the launch of SATRIA-1 will be successful and support the acceleration of national digital transformation.
