JAKARTADAILY.ID – In a recent announcement, Tinder, the world's most popular dating app, revealed changes to its Community Guidelines aimed at promoting positive behavior and ensuring a fun experience for all users. These updates, which align with the principles of authenticity, inclusivity, and respect, reflect Tinder's ongoing commitment to creating a safe and enjoyable platform for forming meaningful relationships.

Ehren Schlue, SVP of Member Strategy at Tinder, emphasized the importance of guiding users, particularly those in the 18-25 age range, as they embark on their dating journeys. "To guide members on their dating journey, Tinder is using this policy update to remind and educate members about healthy dating habits, both online and in real life," Schlue stated.

To ensure widespread awareness, Tinder members will receive notifications about these updates directly through the app and via email.

Among the updated guidelines, one notable focus is the promotion of honesty and authenticity, qualities highly valued by Tinder's user base. To reinforce these principles, Tinder has implemented the following policies:

Making personal connections, not business: The app strictly prohibits members from using Tinder as a platform for advertising, self-promotion, or sharing social media links to gain followers, sell products, raise funds, or campaign. To address this, Tinder will remove social media links from public bios.

Being oneself: Users are not permitted to create fake personas or pretend to be someone they are not, even if it is done in jest.

Maintaining honesty: Tinder discourages the dissemination of false or misleading information through the app. This includes filing false reports against other members. Additionally, the use of third-party applications to manipulate Tinder features is strictly prohibited.

Mutual respect has always been at the core of Tinder's values, evident in its foundational "mutual matches" concept, which necessitates both parties expressing interest before initiating a conversation. The app also employs trust and security features, such as "Are You Sure" and "Is This Making You Uncomfortable?" to proactively intervene and reduce the sending and receiving of potentially harmful messages, fostering healthy and appropriate conversations. The following policies highlight the importance of respect and courtesy:

Keeping chats private: Conversations conducted on Tinder are intended for in-app purposes only, unless explicitly agreed upon by both parties. Sharing private conversations without consent is prohibited.

Respecting boundaries: Recognizing that comfort levels vary among individuals, Tinder encourages users to be mindful of oversharing and the potential risks associated with it. The app reminds members to utilize in-app features that allow them to clearly communicate their relationship goals, facilitating conversations with aligned intentions.

Starting with kindness: Tinder users are actively seeking meaningful connections. Any behavior intended to cause harm, whether online or offline, physical or digital, will not be tolerated and will be dealt with seriously.

To reinforce this principle, Tinder enforces the following policy:
