JAKARTADAILY.ID — Erick Thohir has officially been appointed as the General Chairperson of the Indonesian Football Association (PSSI).
The decision was made after Erick won the majority of votes during the Extraordinary Congress (KLB) at the Shangri-La Hotel, Jakarta, Thursday, February 16, 2023.
"Based on the tally of ballots, for Aa Nyalla a total of 22 votes, Erick Thohir 64 votes, thus the general chairman of the Elected PSSI for the 2023-2027 period is Mr. Erick Thohir," said Chairman of the Election Committee (KP) Amir Burhanuddin when reading the results of election for the PSSI chairman.

The voting process lasted for about 38 minutes starting at 11.40 WIB and ending at 12.18 WIB. From the start of the vote count, the former President of Inter Milan dominated.
Erick managed to get 64 votes or more than La Nyalla who only won 22 votes. Two other candidates, Doni Setiabudi and Arif Putra Wicaksono did not win votes.

Amir said that 86 voters participated in the KLB this time, consisting of 34 provincial associations (asprov), 18 League 1 clubs, 15 League 2 clubs, 16 League 3 clubs, as well as the futsal federation, coaches' association and women's football association.
After the general chairman, the election process continues for the vice chairman and executive committee (exco) candidates on the same day. (*)
