JAKARTADAILY.ID – The Director-General of Customs and Excise, Ministry of Finance held various programs to empower Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) to improve the economy through customs facilities. This is to support the government's national economic recovery program.

The programs held include fiscal and procedural incentive policy programs, assistance programs in the form of Export Clinics and Facility Agents, as well as collaboration programs with ministries/agencies.

"In carrying out the MSME empowerment program, one form of collaboration with Customs and Excise is cooperation with the Cooperatives, Micro Business and Trade Offices in providing assistance, especially in terms of international trade in various regions," said Head of the Sub-Directorate of Public Relations and Customs Counseling, Hatta Wardhana, in a statement posted on their website, Tuesday, June 7, 2022.

Hatta said that the Department of Cooperatives, Micro Enterprises and Trade is an agency mandated by law to manage government affairs in the fields of industry, trade, markets, cooperatives, and micro-enterprises.

"With the cooperation with the Office of Cooperatives, Micro Enterprises and Trade, it is hoped that the export of MSME products can be realized," he added.

This MSME empowerment program is carried out by Customs in various areas such as in Bandar Lampung. According to Hatta, Lampung Customs and Excise coordinated the implementation of export-oriented MSME development with the Lampung Province Cooperatives and SMEs Service, on Tuesday, May 24, 2022.

The MSME development is wrapped in socialization activities at the MSME Cooperative Education and Training Center. The material presented was about export management, prohibited and/or restricted goods, and the imposition of export duties.

Coordination activities were also carried out by Pontianak Customs and Excise with the Office of Cooperatives, Micro Enterprises, and Trade in Kubu Raya Regency, West Kalimantan Province, as an effort to increase exports by MSME actors in Kubu Raya Regency, Monday, May 30, 2022.
