Handcrafted Products from MSMEs in Central Java Are Exported All the Way to Europe and Africa

JAKARTADAILY.ID – Small to Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) in Solo, Central Java, are seeing their products exported all the way to Europe and Africa through the G20 Trade, Industry and Investment Working Group (TIIWG) event. 

Various products from recycled handicrafts, wood carvings, and typical solo batik cloth, to packaged food, all made in Central Java, saw a lot of demand and enthusiasm from delegates during the event, as they circled the stands.

Etnic-k products in particular, which are manufacturers of home decor and various clothing products made from recycled burlap sacks, has marketed its products to Belgium, France, and Africa.

Owner of Etnic-K, Septi Utami admitted that this TIIWG event was a place to introduce their products and also help improve branding.

“The target is more on branding and establishing relationships with potential customers or buyers. Seeing opportunities that can be seized so that Ethnic-k products are known by foreign delegates," said Septi in a press release posted on the website of the Coordinating Ministry for Maritime and Investment on Saturday, May 28, 2022.

Head of the Department of Tourism and Culture of Solo, Aryo Widyandoko, explained that the TIIWG G20 was a strategic meeting that became an opportunity for SMEs from Solo and Central Java.

"The opportunity for MSMEs at one of the TIIWG side events in Solo is an effort to introduce the potential of MSMEs in Soloraya and Central Java," he said.

The development of MSMEs in Central Java cannot be separated from the support of the central and local governments to promote MSMEs.
