JAKARTADAILY.ID – One of the leading e-commerce sites in Indonesia, Tokopedia noted that there were three cities in Indonesia with the highest sales, namely Medan, North Sumatra, Bandung, West Java, and Surabaya, East Java.
"The three cities are examples of cities that recorded the highest sales on Tokopedia. This is supported by our Hyperlocal initiatives such as digitizing traditional markets, holding the Preferred Store Collection program or KTP, and others," said Tokopedia's VP of Corporate Affairs, Nuraini Razak.
Nuraini said, "Tokopedia's Hyperlocal initiative - which consists of various derivative and personalized campaigns based on the needs of each region - aims to bring buyers closer to local sellers so that online shopping can be more efficient and MSMEs throughout Indonesia can have the same opportunity to grow."
One example of success is Tokopedia's partner from Surabaya, Verne Indonesia. This SME, which is engaged in leather material processing, uses Tokopedia as the backbone of its marketing. He recorded an increase in sales of up to 2 times.
In terms of categories, Tokopedia noted that products in the Home and Living, Fashion, Sports, and Hobbies categories are the best-selling products. This was made possible after Tokopedia launched campaigns such as Home Living SALEbrations, West Java Local Fashion Festival, Tokopedia Fashion Week, and Sportacular. (*)
