JAKARTADAILY.ID – PT Pertamina Hulu Mahakam (PHM) implements various innovations and technological applications to increase the recovery rate of existing Oil and Gas wells so that they can continue to produce energy that is safe, reliable, compliant, environmentally friendly, and sustainable.

"We continue to try to contain the rate of natural production decline by implementing best engineering practices in production operations, drilling, well intervention/well connection, maintenance/inspection works supported by the implementation of SUPREME (Sustainability Pertamina Expectations For HSSE Management Excellence) in maintaining and increasing the reliability of PHM production and operation facilities," General Manager PHM, Krisna, in an official statement, Monday, November 7, 2022.

Krisna added that these strategic steps were also carried out to meet the 2022 WP&B target given by Special Task Force for Upstream Oil and Gas Business Activities (SKK Migas), namely to achieve gas production of 550 MMscfd and oil production of 19.5 Kbbld.

According to him, the provision of incentives from the Government of Indonesia in early 2021 has opened up opportunities for PHM to continue the extensive work program of developing Mahakam WK including the exploration program for new wells.

PHM plans to drill 95 development (exploitation) wells and 1 exploration well. We also succeeded in realizing 24 wells in the first quarter of this year. This drilling target is expected to be able to encourage additional annual average production in 2022 by 3951 BOPD for oil and 133 MMSCFD for gas," added Krisna.

The increase in PHM production certainly cannot be separated from the contribution of the Jumelai, North Sisi, North Nubi (JSN) project which was on stream on May 20, 2022. The gas production from this project is estimated at 45 MMSCFD and condensate at 710 BCPD (barrels of condensate per day).

Related to this, Krisna explained that the fairly large production from the Jumelai Field is one of the supports for current and future national Oil and Gas needs as well as being a driving force for the Indonesian economy, especially in East Kalimantan Province.
