Indonesian Government Announces West Kampar Oil and Gas Working Area Auction

JAKARTADAILY.ID – The Indonesian government through the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) has again announced the offer of an Oil and Gas Working Area (WK), namely the West Kampar WK.

The offer is made through a direct bidding mechanism two months ago when it was also included in the 2022 Migas Working Area (WK) Offering Phase I Year 2022.

Director General of Oil and Gas Tutuka Ariadji said the West Kampar WK offer was an Exploitation status Work Area Offer with a Cost Recovery Production Sharing Contract scheme.

According to him, the government hopes that with the implementation of the West Kampar Working Area Offer, the Working Area can be immediately re-produced so that it can provide additional contributions to national oil and gas production.

"West Kampar WK is located in the waters of North Sumatra and Riau, with potential oil and gas resources of approximately 130 Million Barrels of Oil (MMBO). The potential of these resources is beyond the potential reserves of the existing field, namely the Pendalian Field with a residual reserve of less than more than 9.6 MMBO," explained Tutuka Ariadji as quoted from, Thursday, September 22, 2022.

The minimum Firm Commitment for the West Kampar WK offering consists of an exploitation commitment and an exploration commitment, with details:
