JAKARTADAILY.ID – Indonesian President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) emphasized that the government has not and will not discontinue the 450VA Household Electricity Capacity.
“There is no erasure of the 450 VA customer class, there is also no (mandatory) change from 450 VA to 900 VA. There isn't any! We have never spoken about it," said President Jokowi in a press release on Tuesday, September 20, 2022.
The President also ensured that the government would continue to provide subsidies for 450 VA electricity customers. The President also hopes that the public will not have to worry about the issue of discontinuation and diversion.

In a previous report, the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Arifin Tasrif stated that the discourse on the elimination and transfer is considered inappropriate at this time because an increase to 900 VA electricity has the potential to increase electricity use in line with rising costs.
“If the power goes up, there will be an impact (on customers). Costs will also increase with the (upgrade to) 900 VA. It's still undecided, especially when it comes to times like this. So it's sensitive," said Arifin on press release publish on esdm.go.id, Friday, September 16, 2022.
