JAKARTADAILY.ID – During the Idul Fitri 1444 Hijriyah homecoming period, the Downstream Oil and Gas Regulatory Agency (BPH Migas) and Pertamina Patra Niaga stated that the supply of fuel is safe for the public celebrating the holiday.

In response to this, the Head of BPH Migas, Erika Retnowati, accompanied by Secretary of BPH Migas Patuan Alfon Simanjuntak, and CEO of Pertamina Patra Niaga, Alfian Nasution, joined Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Arifin Tasrif on a visit to the Merak Port in Banten and the Bakauheni Port in Lampung.

After visiting the Merak Bunker Fuel Filling Station, Cilegon City SPBU 34.424.09, and Tanjung Gerem Fuel Terminal, Arifin emphasized the importance of anticipating the increased demand for fuel during this peak homecoming season.

"We must always improve our services and be vigilant in monitoring the situation during the peak homecoming period, so that everything can be anticipated," said Arifin on Wednesday, April 19, 2023.

Regarding the safety of the available types of fuel supply during the inspection, Arifin stated that the government and business entities are continuously striving to maintain the resilience of fuel supply. He also stressed the need for swift action in anticipation of potential shortages, in order to avoid emergency situations.

"We see that there are still some figures that need to be fulfilled. So, we need the management at Pertamina to be able to immediately provide supply, so that it is safe. There is no need to wait until there is an emergency, because dealing with emergencies is difficult, especially with heavy traffic. We need to anticipate from the beginning," said Arifin.

Meanwhile, Erika confirmed that the supply and distribution of energy, particularly fuel, were observed to be normal during the visit.

"We accompanied the Minister to ensure that the supply of fuel can run smoothly, so that the public can easily obtain fuel during the homecoming and return flows. In addition, the Minister also emphasized the importance of prioritizing safety factors in providing energy supply to the public," said Erika.
