JAKARTADAILY.ID - Sinar Mas Land together with Mitsubishi Corporation presents an autonomous electric vehicle that will operate in BSD City as an effort to realize BSD City as an integrated smart digital city.
This autonomous electric vehicle comes from France with the Navya trademark Arma variant and will operate at Q Big BSD City and the BSD Green Office Park area.
Indonesian Ministry of Transportation appreciates the presence of this autonomous electric vehicle. The Minister of Transportation, Budi Karya Sumadi said, the presence of AV answered the solution for vehicles that were low in carbon emissions, reduced congestion, and were on time.
"Thank you to Sinar Mas Land and Mitsubishi Corporation for making this project a good innovation for us," said Minister Budi when inaugurating the BSD City autonomous electric vehicle, Friday, May 20, 2022.
Minister Budi emphasized that his party will continue to support BSD City to become an innovation laboratory, to be imitated by other places and to present a new paradigm according to the President's Jokowi vision.

On the same occasion, Sinar Mas Land's Chief Digital Tech Ecosystem & Development, Irawan Harahap said, to become a leading smart city, his party prepared BSD City to be responsive to various alternative solutions for people's lives in the future. This is what makes Research and Development one of the important agendas in the transformation of BSD City as an integrated smart digital city.
"The existence of BSD City as a testbed for unmanned electric vehicles also manifests the readiness of this independent city for futuristic and green mobility," said Irawan.
Irawan explained, Navya Arma has an electric drive and a battery pack with a capacity of 33 kWh that can last for 9 hours. The electric vehicle has dimensions of 4.7 m x 2.1 m with a passenger capacity of 15 people, with 11 sitting and 4 standing formations.
Arma is equipped with a variety of sensors ranging from the use of GPS (Global Positioning System), LIDAR (Light Radar) sensors combined with high resolution cameras for big data analysis, which will then be processed by a computer that has high specifications embedded in the car.
"This unmanned electric transportation has the ability to accelerate, navigate, and can detect environmental conditions around it, including avoiding obstacles and making stops autonomously," he explained.
Irawan added, public can also try this autonomous electric vehicle by first registering and filling out a survey before and after enjoying the vehicle, through the OneSmile application.
Easy access to transportation and mobility in BSD City will be an advantage that Sinar Mas Land offers to residents and the wider community.
