JAKARTADAILY.ID - Sinar Mas Land and G42 signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) in a partnership to transform BSD City into a smart city in Tangerang, Indonesia.
Michael Widjaja, the Group CEO of Sinar Mas Land, and Peng Xiao, the Group CEO of Group-42 (G42), signed the MoU in Dubai on Monday. G42 is a company headquartered in Abu Dhabi, the United Arab Emirates, that specializes in artificial intelligence (AI) and Cloud Computing.
Through the partnership with Group 42, Sinar Mas Land will implement platforms for a smart city and smart campus based on AI in BSD City, South Tangerang, Banten province. The two companies will also develop applications and services in the platforms by applying best practices in monitoring security, building access, payments, trade, education, advertisements, and health. BSD City is expected to become a benchmark for the development of smart cities in the new capital city in East Kalimantan.
"BSD City is our ambitious project with potential bigger growth, especially in the development of digital society, as our priority. We, therefore, are enthusiastic (about) our cooperation with G42 which is leading in the sector of AI and Cloud Computing. Both companies have a common vision of becoming providers of industrial solutions for current challenges in creating smart cities that can be accessed easier and worth living,” Group CEO of Sinar Mas Land, Michael Widjaja said.
G42 is a company that develops industrial solutions based on artificial intelligence (AI) in various business sectors, such as smart city, health, geospatial, flight, energy, and financial services, and also a leading company in digital transformation in the United Arab Emirate and the Middle East.
“We’re happy that we can partner with Sinar Mas Land, a global class company in (the) property (sector). We will use our expertise in AI and Cloud Computing for Sinar Mas Land in making decisions, improving efficiency, and pushing for innovations to change BSD City into a smart city in the future,” said Peng Xiao, the Group CEO of G42.
G42 has been in cooperation with other leading global companies to create strategic partnerships and invest in digital transformation. The newest project of the company is the unification of 12 data centers under a joint venture with Etisalat Group in providing the largest data center in UAE at the capacity of 300 MW, which is currently under construction.
