JAKARTADAILY.ID – The Indonesian Record Museum (MURI) awarded Autograph Tower, as the tallest building in Indonesia on Saturday, September 9, 2023.
The office and hotel building developed by Galeon Group in the Thamrin Nine area stands 385 meters tall. This reaches 3 times the height of the Indonesian National Monument (Monas), as an icon of the capital city of Jakarta. In fact, Autograph is claimed to be the tallest building in the entire Southern Hemisphere.
Previously, in the same area, developer Galeon Group also succeeded in building the 305-meter-high Luminary Tower. That way, Luminary Tower became the second tallest building in Indonesia, after Autograph Tower.
President Director of PT Putragaya Wahana (Galeon Group), Alvin Gozali revealed, both Autograph and Luminary Tower are the first supertall buildings in Indonesia, which are classified as buildings with a height of more than 300 meters.
"Most recently, Autograph Tower will welcome the first privately-owned modern observation deck and sky garden in Indonesia," he said in Jakarta, Saturday, September 9, 2023.
Alvin hopes that Thamrin Nine will become a new landmark in Indonesia and become a local and international tourist destination in Jakarta. This MURI award will strengthen Autograph Tower in the eyes of the public and improve Indonesia's status at the world level.
"This MURI record is a symbol of our achievement. Hopefully, this can signify Indonesia's growth and progress in the eyes of the world, and help attract more foreign investment to Indonesia," Alvin explained.
Galeon Group's Head of Marketing, Anggun Melati, explained that to celebrate the MURI record achieved by Autograph Tower as the Tallest Building in Indonesia, her party deliberately held an event entitled "9Fest". This event was introduced as an annual event for the prestigious Transit Oriented Development (TOD) complex in Jakarta.
"We want to share our pride and joy for the MURI record achieved by Autograph Tower as the Tallest Building in Indonesia actually not only in our country but also the highest in the entire Southern Hemisphere, which is a great achievement not only for Thamrin Nine but also for Indonesia!" she said.
Anggun explained Thamrin Nine is here to support the government in improving the urban transportation system and public facilities in Jakarta. Currently, Thamrin Nine is building an underground connection to Dukuh Atas MRT Station, which will be crucial in improving Jakarta's MRT infrastructure and connectivity.
