BRI Microfinance Outlook 2023 to Invite Indonesian Economic Ministers, Global Experts

JAKARTADAILY.ID – PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia Tbk (BRI) is again holding the BRI Microfinance Outlook 2023 which will take place Thursday, January 26, 2023.

This annual event is a form of BRI's commitment to supporting the growth of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises or MSMEs amidst global economic uncertainty.

Carrying the theme “Financial Inclusion and ESG: The Road to Equitable and Economic Prosperity”, the BRI Microfinance Outlook 2023 presents speakers from professionals, world-class economists, government officials, and Bank BRI's board of directors.

"This event strengthens BRI's commitment as a banking company that provides solutions for Ultra Micro business actors to upgrade, but also supports the government in realizing economic recovery and economic growth through financing that is inclusive and based on ESG," explained the Main Director of PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia Sunarso in his written statement Wednesday, January 25, 2023.

The number one person at the state-owned bank will fill in the welcoming speech and discuss strengthening the role of financial institutions in supporting sustainable finance.

The event will be followed by a keynote speech presenting several ministers, including the Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, who will explain the optimization of government regulations in encouraging environmentally oriented and sustainable investments.

This grand BRI event will also present the Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani, who will discuss the central and regional government budget policies in order to support the development of sustainable and green finance.

Another minister is BUMN Minister Erick Thohir, who will discuss the role of BUMN in the equal distribution of welfare and sustainable economic development.

Apart from presenting a number of Ministers and various other speakers, the BRI Microfinance Outlook 2023 also invited the vocalist from the band Gigi, Armand Maulana, who will sing several of his popular songs at every break.

The event will be held online and offline at the BRI 1 Building, on the 21st floor, and via Zoom, BRI Microfinance Outlook 2023 will present two sessions.

In the first session, BRI Micro Business Director Supari will discuss deepening financial inclusion with micro-ecosystems. This session also presents Jonathan Morduch - Professor of Public Policy and Economics, Executive Director of the Financial Access Initiative, who will discuss sustainable finance for micro-entrepreneurs.

In the same session, another speaker, President, and CEO of Accion Michael Schlein will discuss the topic of green banking and green microfinance.

In the second session, BRI presented Deputy Minister of SOEs Kartika Wirjoatmodjo, who will discuss a topic entitled "Building a Social Economy by Working with Impactful Business."
