Ma'ruf Amin Appreciates the Indonesia Stock Exchange for Becoming the Largest in the ASEAN Region

JAKARTADAILY.ID – Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia, K.H. Ma'ruf Amin appreciated the performance of the Indonesian Capital Market in 2022 which was stable and continued to show positive performance.

Ma'ruf Amin said that the activity of the Indonesian Capital Market this year was quite enthusiastic with the JCI (Jakarta Composite Index) which had managed to maintain growth and increase market capitalization so that it succeeded in becoming the largest stock exchange in the ASEAN region.

"It is hoped that several positive performance achievements in the Capital Market will become a positive basis for market players to look at economic optimism in 2023 while maintaining vigilance and caution," said Ma'ruf during the 2022 Indonesian Stock Exchange trade closing event on Friday, December 30, 2022.

According to Tempo, Vice President Ma'ruf Amin also warned the Financial Services Authority (OJK) and the Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI) to increase supervision and protection to investors to improve trust in the Indonesian capital market.

The Vice President said that anticipation must be made in preparation for the predicted global economic slowdown.

Ma'ruf said that capital market activities had presented a positive output with 4.09 percent growth during 2022. However, he added that optimism must be followed by awareness and prudence.

"Capital market regulators and supervisors, either OJK or the BEI, must improve supervision and protection for investors so that investors will have better trust in the Indonesia capital market," Ma'ruf said
