JAKARTADAILY.ID – The Minister of Cooperatives and SMEs Teten Masduki appreciated PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk or BNI in channeling credit to MSMEs who wanted to export up to Rp 25.79 trillion.
"We appreciate BNI Xpora's performance which can also be applied to other banks in opening up the SME export market," said Teten in Jakarta, Thursday, December 29, 2022.
BNI, through the BNI Xpora program, has distributed Rp 25.79 trillion, or annual growth of 71.08 percent, as of September 2022. Through the BNI Xpora program, BNI encourages MSMEs to export abroad.
According to Teten, the contribution of MSMEs to the Indonesian economy reaches 61 percent of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP).
MSMEs are also able to absorb 97 percent of the total existing workforce.
MSMEs also collect up to 60 percent of the total investment and support non-oil and gas exports by 15 percent.
"In the third quarter of 2022, it grew 5.72 percent year on year or increased significantly compared to Indonesia's main trading partners, namely China (3.9 percent) and the United States (1.8 percent). This cannot be separated from the role of MSMEs," said Teten.
