JAKARTADAILY.ID – Garuda Indonesia Group through Garuda Indonesia full-service flights and low-cost carrier (LCC) Citilink, is preparing around 1.3 million flight seats during the 2023 Christmas and New Year peak season which is projected to take place from 18 December 2022 to 8 January 2023.
The optimization of flight capacity consists of 503,407 flight seats for domestic routes and 116,267 flight seats for international routes which will be served by Garuda Indonesia.
Meanwhile, Citilink has prepared at least 684,682 flight seats for domestic routes and 34,560 flight seats for international routes.

Garuda Indonesia Main Director Irfan Setiaputra revealed the peak season period of Christmas and New Year is an important sign of the growth of the air transportation industry.
"With the high enthusiasm of the public to travel at the end of the year during this pandemic transition period, of course, it is a separate momentum that we will always optimize by ensuring that the accessibility needs of safe and comfortable flight services for people who will have mobility can be properly met," he said, Jakarta, Saturday, December 17, 2022.
Irfan explained that the increase in flight service capacity during the Nataru peak season this time was expected to help accelerate the recovery of national tourism and make a positive contribution to the national economy.
In addition, it is also expected to support the Company's focus on maximizing profitability through the development of domestic and international flight networks.
The availability of 1.3 million flight seats during the Nataru peak season period was also supported by the steps to increase the frequency and operation of bigger aircraft carried out by Garuda Indonesia Group (Garuda Indonesia and Citilink) on a number of flight routes that have the potential for high growth in passenger demand.
As for December 2022, Garuda Indonesia Group projects to be able to operate at least 2,015 flight frequencies per week, growing 20.7 percent compared to last November 2022 with 1,670 flight frequencies per week.
Of course, this number will continue to move dynamically in line with the trend of people traveling using air transportation at the end of this year.
