JAKARTADAILY.ID – Sail Tidore Expo 2022 was officially launched by the Director General of National Export Development (PEN) of the Indonesian Ministry of Trade, Didi Sumedi at Tugulufa Beach, Tidore City Islands, North Maluku, on Thursday, November 24, 2022.
Sail Tidore Expo 2022 will be taking place from November 24 to Novemver 29, 2022. The launch of the event was attended by 90 small and medium enterprises (SMEs) assisted by ministries and institutions from all around Indonesia and the city of Tidore.
"Sail Tidore Expo 2022, which is attended by SMEs from outside the island and the City of Tidore, can stimulate increased inter-island trade. In addition, inter-island trade can become a forum for transferring knowledge between SMEs, " said Didi who is also the Head of the Sail Tidore 2022 Exhibition.

Didi stated that as an archipelagic country with a large population, inter-island trade is very important for the distribution of the national economy.
"This exhibition is expected to be a momentum for SMEs as a driver of the national economy in taking advantage of the revival of the national economy," said Didi.
Didi added that the Covid-19 pandemic had accelerated a shift in business patterns towards the extended use of digital technology. The Digital Economy provides a number of benefits for society, including accelerating and facilitating transactions and increasing access to information and transparency.

In 2021, the value of Indonesia's Digital Economy reached $70 billion and is the highest in ASEAN. E-commerce transactions make the largest contribution to Indonesia's Digital Economy, reaching $53 billion.
This number is predicted to increase to $104 billion by 2025 with an 18 percent growth. Dedi said that this condition must be used as a momentum in accelerating digital transformation. Business actors, especially SMEs, must be able to adapt, innovate, and collaborate with various parties in business development.
"Business actors need to innovate in providing quality and competitive goods/services according to market needs. The increasing number of digital transformation business actors is the foundation for Indonesia to optimize its digital economic potential," explained Didi.

Didi hopes that Sail Tidore Expo also can attract the enthusiasm of visitors to see quality local products.
"In addition, exhibitors and other business actors can also take advantage of the activities that will be carried out in the exhibition area, such as digital marketing seminars, information on exports, and access to financing," he concluded.
