BRI Supports Financial Inclusion Aligned with the Priorities of the G20 Presidency

JAKARTADAILY.ID – In line with the priority issues of the G20 Presidency and its core business, PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia is committed to continuing to encourage increased financial inclusion.

BRI’s President Director Sunarso said, that increasing financial inclusion is also one of BRI's focuses, in which the Company is determined to become a 'Champion of Financial Inclusion' in 2025.

"BRI has prepared a hybrid bank strategy to encourage financial inclusion in Indonesia. These strategies include integrating the Ultra Micro Ecosystem and expanding BRILink Agent services," said Sunarso in Jakarta, Wednesday, November 16, 2022.

After one year of its existence, Holding Ultra Micro (UMi) has had a positive impact on the grass root economy, especially for Ultra Micro business actors.

This is demonstrated by the success of Holding UMi integrating 28.1 million customers with a total outstanding financing of IDR 196.6 trillion. UMi's new depositors have reached 6.9 million or exceeded the initial target of 3.3 million.

As for the Ultra Micro Service Center co-location or “SENYUM” which allows customers to get financial services from three entities in one place, Smile outlets have reached 1,003 locations or are already larger than the initial target of 978 Smile Outlet locations. In fact, Mekaar's PNM customers who are now members of BRILink Agents have reached 47.2 thousand.

Specifically for BRILink Agents, until the end of September 2022, BRI already has 597,177 agents spread throughout Indonesia.

"These agents have served financial transactions of 799 million transactions, with a transaction volume of Rp 963 trillion in nine months," he explained.

Apart from providing Fee-Based Income for BRI of Rp 1 trillion, BRILink Agents also provide economic sharing fees received by agents, which are projected to reach Rp 2 trillion to Rp 3 trillion.

Sunarso continued, BRI is optimistic looking at the end of 2022 and welcoming 2023. "For this reason, BRI will continue to carry out sustainable transformations to maintain a prominent performance, and can continue to grow healthily and become more resilient," he concluded.
