JAKARTADAILY.ID – Starting from December 16, 2022, Batik Air is serving flights to Singapore from Makassar, the capital of South Sulawesi, full-service carrier said in a statement on Tuesday, October 25, 2022.
Batik Air is a member of Lion Group, an Indonesian business group, which businesses spans from aviation to aviation supporting services.
Batik Air said on Tuesday's statement that on December 16, 2022, it will mark its first direct round-trip flights from Sultan Hasanuddin International Airport in Makassar, Maros, South Sulawesi to Changi International Airport in Singapore.
Danang Mandala Prihantoro, Batik Air's Corporate Communications Strategic Officer said that inauguration of the new flight is to celebrate the momentum of International Aviation Day, which is commemorated every December 7.
Batik Air said by that time, the carrier will offer its flight services to more than 40 cities in the eastern part of the country.
The cities include Makassar, Selayar, Tana Toraja, Palopo; West Sulawesi: Mamuju; Southeast Sulawesi: Kendari, Kolaka, Raha, Bau-Bau; Central Sulawesi: Palu, Luwuk, Morowali; Gorontalo, North Sulawesi: Manado, Melonguane, Miangas, Tahuna; Maluku: Ambon, Saumlaki, Langgur, Dobo, Namlea.
The other cities are North Maluku: Ternate, Morotai, Labuha; Papua: Jayapura, Biak; West Papua: Sorong, Manokwari, Fakfak, Kaimana; Central Papua: Nabire, Timika; Papua Mountains: Wamena, Dekai; South Papua: Asmat, Merauke.

For its latest Makassar-Singapore flight service, Batik Air said it will serve its passengers using a plane, which has the flight number ID-7294 and departing schedule at 11.45 Eastern Indonesia Time, known as WITA. The plane is scheduled to arrive in Singapore at 14.30 local time.
