JAKARTADAILY.ID – The state-owned construction company PT Waskita Karya (Persero) Tbk. won the trust to build Timor Leste's infrastructure by winning the tender for the Noefefan - Oenuno Road project in Oé-Cusse, Timor Leste worth 22.1 million USD or equivalent to Rp 322 billion.
This is not Waskita's first project in Timor Leste, previously the company listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange with WSKT stock ticker has also completed several large infrastructure projects such as Suai Airport and Sakato - Noefefan road with good quality projects that were completed in 2020.
Regarding this project, Waskita Karya I & QSHE Director of Operation I Ketut Pasek Senjaya explained that Waskita's work includes improvement/rehabilitation and maintenance.
It is hoped that this project can support the connectivity of road infrastructure, which will also connect with the Indonesian border, thereby providing benefits to the people of Oé-Cusse Timor Leste.
"We are targeting this project to be faster than the planned completion in the 18-month contract, and to be able to complete this project on time even faster than the contract, we sent the best team as a form of responsibility and gratitude to the Special Economic Social Zone no. Merkadu (ZEESM Timor 4 Leste) for giving Waskita trust," said Pasek quoted from a press release Tuesday, August 23, 2022.
With Waskita's trust, Pasek said, the Company hopes to contribute further to the development of infrastructure and other community facilities for the more advanced State of Timor Leste and to keep the diplomatic relations between Timor Leste - Indonesia increasingly well established through the presence of Waskita Karya.

"In the future, there are still several infrastructure projects that we are piloting/targeting. The acquisition of this project is due to the trust in the work of previous projects with good quality. Waskita is ready to work on the next packages, both road works, buildings, airport development, and others. We can say that our heavy construction equipment in Timor Leste is complete to work on various projects,” added Pasek.
