JAKARTADAILY.ID – Majamojo, a joint venture created by Telkomsel and Go To via PT Aplikasi Multimedia Anak Bangsa, said it has signed a partnership with Agate, one of the largest game developers in Indonesia.
The partnership agreement with Agate was claimed to be part of its initial commitment to support the local game industry.
In a statement sent to JakartaDaily.id on Thursday (July 7, 2022), Majamojo and Agate will oversee the launching of Memories in the Southeast Asia region.
The companies inked the deal today at Remboelan Resto Pondok Indah, which was attended by Jungwon Hahn, the CEO of Majamojo and Shieny Aprilia, the CEO of Agate.
Cipto Adiguna as President of AGI (Indonesian Games Association) was also present at the event.
"Indonesia is a big market for games but we don't see enough local companies to venture into game publishers or developers," said Jungwon Hahn, CEO of Majamojo.
"The market is dominated by foreign games and we have aspirations to accelerate market growth by nurturing local talents, but the most important thing is to develop the digital environment in Indonesia quickly so that young talents are more eager to become programmers, artists, game experts, while at the same time they can actively contribute to the gaming industry."

Majamojo said in the statement that it aims to become a publisher that pushes the penetration of locally made games and unlocks their highest potential, especially for mobile phone games.
It said one of the concrete step is to establish strategic cooperation with well-known local game developers to penetrate the gamer market in Southeast Asia.
"After actively building the Indonesian video game industry, we are now ready to reach higher goals," said Shieny Aprilia, CEO of Agate.
"With this collaboration, I think together with Mamamojo we can release many of our favorite games to the world made by Indonesian talents."
Majamojo’s decision to choose Agate as a partner is not without a good reason, as Agate is a game development company that has been in business since 2009, and has gone through many failures before finally being successful in producing more than 300 games.
Until today, Agate has continued come up with new and innovative games, such as Memories.
