JAKARTADAILY.ID – As the digital commerce revolution continues in Indonesia, more and more MSMEs are turning to online marketplaces to expand their business, one of them being Tokopedia.

Home to approximately 12 million registered merchants, almost 100 percent of which are local Micro and Small Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), Tokopedia is sharing five ways for local MSME owners to improve their businesses:

1. Analyze and Evaluate the Market

The first method businesses can use is analyzing and evaluating their specific markets, and their potential demographic, they can do this by checking the Statistik Toko feature on the Tokopedia Seller app. With this, they can view important stats regarding their store, such as income, estimated expenses, and order trends, among others, and adjust their strategies based on the data.

2. Optimize the Automated Advertising Feature

It is imperative that your products are displayed prominently where potential customers can see them, especially through advertising, therefore merchants can optimize TopAds, Tokopedia’s automated advertising feature, through which their products will appear at the top of the page. This helps merchants attract more buyers and maximize sales.

3. Refine Promotion Strategy

Promotions, discounts, and special deals can also help merchants get to boost their business. Therefore, MSME owners can offer customers promotions to increase transactions. Product bundles and discounts are also other notable alternatives. "Merchants can further activate the Bebas Ongkir feature so buyers won’t have to worry about the shipping cost," Tokopedia's Vice President of Logistics, Edwin Mailoa said.

4. Utilize Smart Warehouses

To reach a broader market, MSME owners can store their products in Dilayani Tokopedia's smart warehouses that are spread across multiple regions in Indonesia.

“Dilayani Tokopedia supports merchants with operations handling, starting from product inbound, packing, shipment, and as well as issue resolution should there be any during the transaction. This allows MSME owners to focus more on business development,” Tokopedia’s Associate Vice President of Fulfillment, Samuel Simanjuntak said.

5. Choose the Right Delivery Service

Supported by several strategic partners, Tokopedia offers three types of delivery services merchants can choose according to their business needs.

The Dijemput Kurir Service allows merchants to wait for a courier to pick up an order. On the other hand, the Antar ke Kantor Agen Service requires merchants to drop off orders at shipment agents. The AWB Otomatis dan Non-Tunai Service helps merchants automatically document addresses, receipts, and costs of delivery by logistic partners.

Tokopedia–a part of GoTo group, the largest digital ecosystem in Indonesia consisting Gojek, Tokopedia and GoTo Financial–will continue to empower MSME to achieve more in an effort to recover the Indonesian economy.
