JAKARTADAILY.ID – Indonesia's national airline Garuda Indonesia will be putting 7 large-bodied aircraft in operation for the Hajj season this year.

The seven wide-body planes consist of four B777-300ER aircraft, one A330-300 aircraft, and two A330-900neo.

President Director of Garuda Indonesia, Irfan Setiaputra, said that during the Hajj season 1443/2022, Garuda Indonesia won the trust to fly 47,915 prospective Hajj pilgrims to the Holy Land from June 4 to August 13, 2022.

"As a national flag carrier, Garuda Indonesia continues to optimize its commitment to carry out the important task of serving Indonesian Hajj pilgrims to the Holy Land by providing safe and comfortable flights," he said in a press statement, Tuesday, May 31, 2022.

According to him, getting the trust to serve Hajj flights for more than 60 years is certainly a manifestation of Garuda Indonesia in providing optimal flight accessibility for the people of Indonesia as the country with the largest Muslim population in Indonesia.

“We understand that the Hajj season 1443/2022 has an important meaning for people who have been waiting for this trip for two years. Therefore, we will ensure that all pilgrims get the best service, starting from before the flight until arriving back in the country," added Irfan.

Irfan continued, as many as 47,915 pilgrims this year will be divided into 128 flying groups (kloters), and will depart from 9 (nine) embarkations, namely: Banda Aceh, Medan, Padang, Jakarta, Solo, Banjarmasin, Balikpapan, Makassar and Lombok.

"In this Hajj season, Garuda Indonesia will operate 7 (seven) wide-body fleets, consisting of 4 B777-300ER aircraft, 1 A330-300 aircraft, and 2 A330-900neo aircraft," he explained.

Garuda Indonesia urges all pilgrims to always ensure their respective health protocols, and comply with various applicable regulations regarding the implementation of the Hajj journey that has been determined by the relevant authorities.

"We urge the congregation to always apply health protocols consistently to ensure all congregants are in good health until they arrive back in the country," concluded Irfan.
