JAKARTADAILY.ID – Salim Group, the group behind Indofood, Indomobil Group, and Indomaret, is now in its third generation, with Axton Salim at the lead. The business group has a wide range of specialties, from raw material production, food processing, to consumer goods.
Although he is an heir, Axton didn't just sit still to get where he is now. The Indofood successor has also served as Head of Dairy Division and Corporate Marketing Division, Vice President Director of PT Indolakto, and Non-Executive Director of Indofood Agri Resources Ltd and Gallant Venture Ltd.
He also took his own time as Director of Pacsari Pte Ltd, Director of Codigo Pte Ltd, and Commissioner of PT Perusahaan Perkebunan London Sumatra Indonesia Tbk.
He is now helping with the development and promotion of the company's products in order to make them more appealing to younger markets and demographics from around the globe.
Axton is the one who established the Block71 start-up incubator between Salim Group and the National University of Singapore from outside the company. It now maintains branches in important Indonesian cities such as Bandung and Jogjakarta to support industry expansion, in addition to its base in Jakarta.
Furthermore, he serves on the Advisory Board of Nanyang Business School at Nanyang Technological University in Singapore as well as co-chair of the Scaling Up Nutrition Business Network of the United Nations.
