JAKARTADAILY.ID - State-owned construction and toll road developer PT Waskita Karya Tbk (IDX:WSKT) has planned to divest its shares in 5 toll roads in 2022 as the company aims to refocus on the construction sector.
Waskita Karya President Director Destiawan Soewardjono said that the toll roads to be divested include the Pejagan-Pemalang toll road, Cimanggis-Cibitung toll road, and Bekasi-Cawang-Kampung Melayu.
He said a number of investors are already interested in the Cimanggis-Cibitung toll road. “We’ve just completed the Cimanggis-Cibitung toll road. But regarding Bekasi-Cawang-Kampung Melayu toll road, we’re currently constructing its two sections. We hope to complete them early next year,” he said.
"We're projecting to obtain around Rp10-20 trillion from the divestment of 4 – 5 toll roads next year. But it will depend on the book value," Destiawan said during a virtual discussion on Sunday, 05 December 2021.
So far, Waskita has divested four toll roads, namely Medan-Kualanamu-Tebing in North Sumatra, Semarang-Batang in Central Java, Cinere-Serpong in Greater Jakarta, and Cibitung-Cilincing in Greater Jakarta.
State Enterprises (BUMN) Deputy Minister II Kartiko Wirjoatmodjo said previously that after completing the mandate of developing toll roads in the next few years, Waskita Karya will refocus on its core business of construction. (*)
