JAKARTADAILY.ID – National airline Garuda Indonesia is embarking on a strategic partnership with Singapore Airlines to enhance and streamline the flight network between Indonesia and Singapore.
To solidify this commitment, the two airlines are exploring commercial cooperation through a joint venture, targeting key flight routes such as Singapore - Denpasar, Singapore - Jakarta, and Singapore - Surabaya. This collaboration builds upon the existing commercial partnership that was established in November 2021.
By joining forces, Garuda Indonesia and Singapore Airlines aim to optimize the development of the flight network strategy between the two countries. This includes offering a wider range of flight schedules that complement each other, as well as providing competitive prices for passengers of both airlines.
Irfan Setiaputra, the CEO of Garuda Indonesia, emphasized the significance of this collaboration, which follows over a decade of successful cooperation between the two airlines. He stated, "This collaboration is also part of our efforts to improve company performance through our network strategy by optimizing flight schedules through a partnership with Singapore Airlines. Through this initiative, the two airlines agreed to explore more benefits for flight service users, by offering a variety of schedule options that are in line with the service standards carried out by Garuda Indonesia and Singapore Airlines."
Furthermore, Setiaputra highlighted the broader impact of this collaboration on bilateral relations between Indonesia and Singapore, particularly in the tourism sector. He expressed optimism that the partnership would create increased opportunities for foreign tourists to explore the enchanting destinations in both countries.

Goh Choon Phong, the Chief Executive Officer of Singapore Airlines, emphasized the profitability and long-term partnership enhancement that this joint venture would bring. This is also a form of our commitment to growing the aviation market in Indonesia and Singapore, facilitating the need for better connectivity, and promoting the two countries as regional tourist destinations."
