JAKARTADAILY.ID – Indonesia's spice exports to Egypt are expected to increase following the signing of a trade contract for the purchase of 120 tons of elephant ginger worth USD 156,000.
The contract was signed between CV Al Malaibari, an exporter from Cirebon, and El Khalada Misr Industry Egypt Company, and witnessed by Indonesian Ambassador to Egypt Lutfi Rauf and Cairo Trade Attache M. Syahran Bhakti.
Speaking at the contract signing, Syahran expressed optimism that the performance of Indonesia's exports to Egypt will increase, particularly in the spice industry.
"The signing of this trade contract is very important to improve the performance of Indonesia's exports to Egypt. Hopefully, exporters can pay attention to the payment system offered so that transactions do not experience obstacles," he said.
Meanwhile, Ambassador Lutfi Rauf appreciated the success of the trade contract and emphasized the importance of mutual benefit in trade agreements.

"In other words, exporters are responsible for providing products and importers secure payments so that there is a continuity of orders for products from Indonesia," he said.
Representative of CV Al Malaibari, Muhammad Rifki, said he was ready to fulfill requests for elephant ginger from Egyptian buyers.
El Sayed El Sayed Fahem, the buyer, expressed his readiness to cooperate with Indonesia in business and said that he plans to import pineapple and other tropical fruit products from Indonesia.
According to data from the Ministry of Trade, the total trade between Indonesia and Egypt in 2022 reached a value of USD 354.2 million. Meanwhile, based on data from the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS), the total import of Egyptian ginger from the world in 2022 will reach USD 4.5 million. Countries supplying ginger to Egypt include India, Indonesia, China, Nigeria, Singapore, and Saudi Arabia.
