JAKARTADAILY.ID - The Minister of Religion Yaqut Cholil Qoumas aka Gus Yaqut speak out on the new halal logo recently launched by the Ministry through Halal Product Guarantee Agency or BPJPH.
Gus Yaqut points out the previous halal logo issued by the MUI will gradually no longer be valid. He said the halal certification is now handled by the government and not a community organization any longer.
“In the upcoming days, the halal label issued by the MUI will no longer be valid. The halal certifications, as stated in the law, are held by the government, and not a community organization,” Gus Yaqut said on his Instagram account, Saturday, March 13, 2022.
The approval of the halal label by the BPJPH to implement Article 37 of Law Number 33 of 2014 concerning Halal Product Guarantee (JPH), is also part of the implementation of the mandate of Government Regulation (PP) Number 39 of 2021 concerning the Implementation of the JPH Sector.
The new label philosophically combined values of Indonesia. The form and pattern used in it are cultural artifacts with unique characteristics, personalities, and it also represents Halal Indonesia.
Head of BPJPH Muhammad Aqil Irham said the new form of Halal Indonesia label consists of two objects. They are Surjan gunungan and pattern or Lurik Gunungan on the pyramid-shaped wayang kulit.
“The 'gunungan' is drawn in a certain way as a calligraphy of the Arabic letter Ha, Lam Alif, and Lam in one sequence to form the word Halal,” he said.
This form illustrates the higher the knowledge and the older the age, humans must be more conical, or 'golong gilig', to merge soul, taste, creation, intention, and work in life.
