JAKARTADAILY.ID - Gerindra party politician Fadli Zon criticizes the new halal logo set by the Ministry of Religion. He said the word “halal” is supposed to be easily readable and its color should be green.

He said the word “halal” in Arabic and the green color combination is still recognizable across the whole world.

“The word “halal” is supposed to be easily readable and isn’t there a rule on writing calligraphy? That is why the 'Halal' logos across the world is still in clear Arabic, with a green branding,” Zon tweeted Sunday, March 13, 2022.

“The new logo seems ethnocentric and hides the word 'halal',” Zon concluded.

The Ministry of Religion, through the Halal Product Guarantee Agency (BPJPH), previously issued a new halal label for all parts of Indonesia. The new label philosophically combined values of Indonesia. The form and pattern used in it are cultural artifacts with unique characteristics, personalities, and it also represents Halal Indonesia.

The new form of Halal Indonesia consists of two objects. They are Surjan gunungan and pattern or Lurik Gunungan on the pyramid-shaped wayang kulit.

This form illustrates the higher the knowledge and the older the age, humans must be more conical, known as 'golong gilig', to merge soul, taste, creation, intention, and work in life.
