The OJK Board of Commissioners Meets President Joko Widodo Toward the End of Their Terms

JAKARTADAILY.ID – The term of service of members of the Indonesian Financial Services Authority (OJK) Board of Commissioners for the 2017-2022 period will end this year. Towards the end of their tenure, they will face President Joko Widodo, on Wednesday, July 13, 2022.

On that occasion, Chairman of the OJK Board of Commissioners, Wimboh Santoso said his party appreciated President Jokowi's leadership in issuing strategic policies, especially during the Covid-19 pandemic.

"Thanks to the President's instructions, we Indonesia can handle Covid well, can get enough vaccines, distribute it quickly, so that people can't be constrained by the Covid-19 outbreak in 2020," said Wimboh in a press statement, Thursday, July 13. 2022.

Wimboh said that in the last two years, the world, including Indonesia, faced extraordinary conditions that were not previously predicted. The government at that time, according to Wimboh, was able to handle the Covid-19 pandemic well so that group immunity or herd immunity could be achieved.

"(The community) can resume activities as shown that our economy has reached 5.1 percent in Q1 2022 on a year-on-year basis yesterday," he continued.

In addition, Wimboh also said that the stability of the financial system and post-Covid-19 economic recovery could be achieved because of the policy synergy between ministries and institutions as directed by the President.

"We also have a good synergy between fiscal policy and the Minister of Finance, monetary policy, and Bank Indonesia which can provide a policy orchestra that has a positive impact on the stability of Indonesia's financial system," he added.
