JAKARTADAILY.ID - The Coordinating Minister for the Economy of the Republic of Indonesia, Airlangga Hartarto said that as the G20 Presidency, Indonesia would receive significant economic benefits. One of these benefits is the creation of new jobs of 33,000 people.

This job creation is possible because during the G20 Presidency, Indonesia will host more than 150 meetings held in 19 cities. The entire meeting will be attended by around 18,000 delegates.

"In addition to creating jobs, the G20 Presidency will also increase domestic consumption by Rp. 1.7 trillion and encourage the growth of Gross Domestic Product by Rp. 7.4 trillion. That means, the benefits are many times greater than when Indonesia hosted the IMF and World Bank meetings in 2018," said Airlangga when speaking at the 2022 Webinar Market Outlook "Indonesia Toward 2022 Economic Recovery: Stability or Growth?" held by BNI Asset Management on Thursday (9 December 2021).

"The President has emphasized that there are three focuses that must be achieved, namely improving and handling inclusive health, digital-based transformation, and the transition to sustainable energy. The President's directive, the G20 Presidency is not ceremonial or narrative but must produce tangible and down to earth results that will be beneficial," he said.

“A few days ago, we held a Sherpa Meeting, and the delegates from the countries who attended were impressed with our hospitalization. They also witnessed Indonesia's Center for Industry and Digitization, which is different and is considered more developed than other countries," concluded Airlangga.(*)
