JAKARTADAILY.ID – The Indonesian Attorney General's Office (AGO) named three suspects in the corruption case of the provision of 4G base transceiver station (BTS) infrastructure and supporting infrastructure packages 1 through 5 at the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology (Kominfo) between 2020 and 2022.
One of the three suspects is the President Director of BAKTI Keminfo, Anang Achmad Latif (AAL).
"The three suspects are AAL as President Director of BAKTI at the Ministry of Communication and Information, GMS as President Director of PT Mora Telematics Indonesia, YS as Human Development Expert (HUDEV) at the University of Indonesia in 2020," said the AGO's Head of Legal Information Center Ketut Sumedana in his statement, Wednesday, January 4, 2023.
Ketut said the three suspects were immediately detained. Suspects AAL and YS were detained at the Salemba Detention Center of the AGO branch, while suspect GMS was detained at the Salemba Detention Center of the Jaksel Prosecutor's Office branch.
Meanwhile, Ketut also explained the role of the suspects. Where AAL is said to have a role in arranging or manipulating the winner of the tender.
"The suspect AAL has deliberately issued regulations that have been arranged in such a way as to close the opportunities for other prospective participants. This was done to secure the procurement price that had been marked up in such a way," he explained.
The suspect GMS played a role in jointly providing input and suggestions to AAL into the President Director's Regulation regarding several matters which were known to be intended to benefit the vendor and consortium. In addition, the GMS company in this case acted as one of the suppliers of one of the devices.
