JAKARTADAILY.ID – Indonesian National Police revealed that the suicide bomber at the Astana Anyar Police, Bandung, West Java, was affiliated with the West Java Jamaah Ansharut Daulah (JAD) network.
"The perpetrators are affiliated with JAD Bandung or JAD West Java," said National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo at the scene, Bandung, Wednesday, December 7, 2022.
The identified perpetrator, named Agus Sujatno alias Agus Muslim, is a former terrorist convict who was detained at the Nusakambangan Penitentiary.
"The perpetrators have been detained and processed by Nusakambangan Penitentiary. Groups that are 'still red' in the process of radicalization," he asserted.
Agus' step-grandfather, Supono (84) confirmed that Agus was the grandson of the suicide bomber.
Supono confirmed that the face on the corpse whose body was mutilated when the suicide bombing occurred was his grandson.
"Yes, that's right, that's Agus. He's my stepson," said Supono to reporters, Wednesday, December 7, 2022.
According to Supono, Agus had long since left his home in Bandung until it was discovered that he was living in Sukaharjo, Central Java.
"He hasn't been at home for a long time, he also didn't tell me about getting married. Just letting you know that Agus now lives in Sukaharjo in Central Java," he said.
As previously reported, a suicide bombing occurred at the Astana Anyar Police Office on Wednesday 7 December 2022 in the morning at around 8.20 WIB (Western Indonesia Time).
As a result of the explosion, 1 member of the National Police died, and 7 others are still being treated.
