JAKARTADAILY.ID – The suicide bomb attack at the Astana Anyar Sectoral Police in Bandung, West Java, claimed the life of one police officer, and injured eight others.
The police officer that died was Second Police Inspector Adjutant (Aipda) Sofyan. The late Aipda Sofyan was a member of the Astana Anyar Sectoral Police.
He was declared dead after undergoing intensive treatment at the Immanuel Hospital Emergency Room (IGD).
“(The) victims are 8 police officers, one died, and the perpetrator (bomber) died. Seven are being treated at the hospital," said Head of Public Relations of the West Java Regional Police, Police Grand Commissioner Ibrahim Tompo on Wednesday, December 7, 2022.
"So the victims were nine people and one died. One perpetrator has been identified, "he continued.
As previously reported, a suicide bomber attacked the Astana Anyar Police Station on Wednesday, December 7, 2022, in the morning at around 8.20 Western Indonesia Time (WIB).
Bandung Resort Police, Senior Commissioner, Aswin Sipayung said that the perpetrator blew himself up during a police rally around 08.20 AM.
“Astana Anyar Police Headquarters (Polsek) was holding a call, a man entered the Polsek brandishing a sharp weapon, broke through the assembly line, members dodged, and there was an explosion, the perpetrator was carrying a bomb. Suspected of being a suicide bombing, the perpetrator died," said Aswin when contacted on Wednesday, December 7, 2022.
