JAKARTADAILY.ID – A total of 3,175 health workers have been deployed to 194 evacuation points in eight sub-districts following the M5,6 Cianjur earthquake, West Java.
Quoted from the BNPB website, on T Tuesday, November 29, 2022, the eight sub-districts include Pacet, Cugenang, Gekbrong, Warungkondang, Mande, Cilaku, Cibeber, and Cianjur sub-districts.
"(Health workers have been) deployed in 194 evacuation locations in eight sub-districts," explained the Acting Head of the BNPB Disaster Data, Information and Communication Center, Abdul Muhari.
Health workers consisting of general practitioners, nurses, nutritionists, midwives, pharmacists, surveillance personnel, environmental health, therapists, psychologists, and various medical specialists support the health services of affected residents.
Health service activities under the auspices of the Ministry of Health have carried out observations and data collection to prevent disease or epidemics as well as submitting health logistics to the relevant agencies.
Muhari added that the Cianjur District Health Office has conducted a Rapid Health Assessment (RHA), mobilized to provide health services at several refugee points, and collected data on drug availability, vulnerable groups, and disease trends at evacuation points.

To transport victims who need surgery or treatment at health facilities, there are 16 ambulances that take turns taking and picking up affected residents.
Based on data compiled by the Cianjur Regency Earthquake Handling Health Cluster on Sunday, November 27, 2022, it was recorded that the 5 most cases found at health posts and Public health centers were Acute Respiratory Infection (ARI), gastritis, hypertension, diarrhea, and diabetes.
A total of 155 beds were also prepared in Cianjur Regency to receive postoperative patients spread across Cimacan Hospital (50 beds), Pagelaran Hospital South Cianjur (20 beds), dr. Hafiz (20 bed), Bhayangkara Hospital (11 bed), BBKP Ciloto Campus Cimacan (50 bed) and GKI Halfway House (5 bed).

Health workers who are members of the sanitarian team also take part in collecting and checking the quality of water at 20 evacuation points. In addition, monitoring of larvae and fogging was also carried out in Cijedil Village, Cugenang District.
Meanwhile, in order to support nutrition services at the evacuation sites, kitchens for Infant and Child Feeding (IYCF) have been opened in 2 locations, namely Cugenang and Warungkondang Districts.
