BNPB Update on Cianjur Earthquake: 321 People Dead and 11 Missing

JAKARTADAILY.ID – Indonesian National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) reports the latest data on victims of the Cianjur earthquake. There were 321 victims who died in the tragedy as of Sunday, November 27, 2022.

"Today three bodies were found. With the discovery of these three, to this day, 321 people have died. Then there are still 11 victims who are missing," explained Head of BNPB Lt. Gen. TNI Suharyanto, in a press release, quoted Monday, November 28, 2022.

Suharyanto said that the number of those who are still being treated in hospitals both in Cianjur and who have been referred to other hospitals is 108 people.

Then, as many as 73,874 people fled, with details of 33,713 male refugees and 40,161 female refugees.

Furthermore, Suharyanto explains, the joint task force has succeeded in identifying evacuation points.

"Throughout Cianjur Regency, there are 325 evacuation points and 183 of them are centralized. Centralized here are the forces that have displaced more than 25 people," he said.

"Then there are 142 independent evacuation points, meaning people who set up refugee camps around their respective homes with a force of under 25 people," BNPB Head Lt. Gen. TNI Suharyanto continued.

On the same occasion, BNPB noted that 27,434 houses were heavily damaged. Then, 13,070 houses were moderately damaged and 22,124 were slightly damaged. "In total there are 62,628 houses," said Suharyanto.
