Indonesian Supreme Court Hands Over Two Judges Involved in Bribery Case to KPK

JAKARTADAILY.ID – The Indonesian Supreme court handed over investigations into an alleged bribery case of two supreme court judges to the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK).

Judges Sudrajad Dimyati and Gazalba Saleh have both been named as suspects by the Commission. 

Supreme Court spokesperson Andi Samsan Nganro confirmed that Gazalba has been designated as a suspect.

"That is correct (Gazalba is a suspect). Regarding the designation of GZ as a suspect, of course, KPK knows more (about why he was pointed as a suspect)," said Andi as quoted by Tempo on Thursday, November 10, 2022.

Andi also revealed, regarding the deactivation of Gazalba Saleh as Supreme Court Judge, his party was still considering it and would wait for the progress of the case being handled by the KPK.

"The case is already within the jurisdiction of the KPK, so we will submit it to the legal process. Whether there will be deactivation, we are waiting for further developments," he explained.

The Indonesian Corruption Eradication Commission conducted a sting operation in Jakarta and Semarang on Thursday, September 22, 2022.
