Indonesian National Police Freeze Accounts Belonging to Eight Suspects in the NET89 Trading Bot Case

JAKARTADAILY.ID – The Indonesian National Police Criminal Investigation Agency (Bareskrim) is investigating the alleged fraudulent case of the NET89 trading bots by PT Simbiotic Multitalenta Indonesia (SMI).

The Head of the Public Information Section, of the Public Relations Division of the National Police, Police Grand Commissioner Nurul Azizah said that the investigators have named eight suspects in the case.

The investigator from National Police Criminal Investigation Agency also blocked the accounts belonging to the eight suspects.

"Currently the status of the accounts of the 8 suspects has been blocked by investigators," said Nurul Azizah, to reporters, Monday, November 7, 2022.

Nurul explained that the eight suspects had the initials AA, LSH, ESI, RS, AL, HS, FI, and D. Five of them were RS, AL, HS, FI, and D as PT SMI's Net89 sub-exchanger.

"The five of them are the destination for members to deposit funds and the origin of the disbursement of funds to Net89 members," he said.

The Head of Sub-Directorate II of the Special Crimes at the Criminal Investigation Unit, Police Grand Commissioner Candra Sukma Kumara, added that a total of 83 accounts were frozen.

"There are 83 accounts from 8 suspects," explained Candra.

In this case, the police have also questioned a number of celebrities, including YouTuber Atta Halilintar and musician Kevin Aprilio.

The Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police stated that Kevin Aprilio, had been investigated in relation to the alleged fraudulent case of the Net89 trading robot by PT Simbiotic Multitalenta Indonesia (SMI).

Based on the results of the examination and deepening that has been carried out, Kevin Aprilio is also said to be a victim of the alleged Net89 fraud.

"The person in question (Kevin Aprilio) is actually a victim of Net89," said Chandra Sukma Kumara, Monday, November 7, 2022.
