Brigadier General Hendra Kurniawan Undergoes Trial for Obstruction of Justice During Brigadier J Investigation

JAKARTADAILY.ID – Three suspects of Obstruction of Justice in the case of Brigadier J's murder will undergo the first session of the trial at the South Jakarta District Court on Wednesday, October 19, 2022.

The three defendants are Brigadier General Hendra Kurniawan, Arif Rahman Arifin, and Agus Nurpatria.

The defendant Brigadier General Hendra Kurniawan was charged with obstructing the investigation process carried out in investigating the Brigadier J murder case.

"Those who committed (the three defendants), who order to do and those who participate in committing acts, intentionally and without rights or against the law take any action that results in disruption of the electronic system and/or causes the electronic system to not work properly," said the Public Prosecutor at the District Court. South Jakarta, Wednesday, October 19, 2022.

The prosecutor's indictment stated that the defendant Brigadier General Hendra Kurniawan was charged with controlling and supervising the attempts to remove CCTV evidence as ordered by Ferdy Sambo.

Hendra Kurniawan and Arif Rachman explained to Ferdy Sambo that there were 20 CCTVs installed around his official residence in Duren Tiga and said Brigadier J was still alive when Ferdy Sambo arrived at the official residence.

Therefore, Ferdy Sambo ordered Arif Rachman to destroy the CCTV and it would be monitored by Hendra Kurniawan in accordance with his plan to fabricate the murder case.

"Witness Ferdy Sambo conveyed to the defendant Hendra Kurniawan, 'Hendra, make sure everything is in order,'" said the Prosecutor.

Hendra then convinced Arif Rachman of the assassination plot he had received from Ferdy Sambo.

"It's okay Arif, we have to just believe it (the assassination plot)," said the prosecutor in his indictment.

Hendra's attorney, Henry Yosodiningrat said that the prosecutor's indictment had met the formal and material requirements.
