Indonesian East Java Police Questions PT LIB Director for 12 Hours as a Suspect of the Kanjuruhan Tragedy

JAKARTADAILY.ID – The President Director of PT Liga Indonesia Baru (LIB) Akhmad Hardian Lukita is undergoing examination as a suspect in the Kanjuruhan Stadium Tragedy case by East Java Police investigators.

Akhmad Hardian Lukita was questioned for 12 hours and asked to answer 97 questions by East Java Regional Police investigators on Wednesday, October 12, 2022.

"Today there were 97 questions. Indeed, this is not final, meaning we can still be called to conduct additional investigations at any time," said one of Akhmad Hardian Lukita's attorneys, Mustofa Abidin after an examination at the Directorate of General Criminal Investigation of the East Java Police, Wednesday, October 12, 2022.

During the examination and investigators questioned the duties and authorities of PT LIB. Investigators also raised questions about the legal relationship with other related parties in this case.

"Yes, if it is formally related to the duties and authorities of the directors of PT LIB, then the legal relationship between PT LIB and the Indonesian Football Association (PSSI), the legal relationship between PT LIB and the broadcast party, and organizing committee," he said.

According to Mustofa, his party has submitted a number of items of evidence needed by the investigation team. However, there are also some documents that have not been completed related to the information submitted by their clients.

"There are, but not all of them. We are still collecting all the documents. The (documents) are actually related to the legality of PT LIB, and then there are also agreements with other parties," he said.

Separately, the spokesman for the Indonesian National Police, Inspector General Dedi Prasetyo, said that his party scheduled additional witness examinations next week.

The witnesses examined included Indosiar as the broadcaster of Liga 1, the deputy for security and safety of PSSI, and the general coordinator of the organizing committee.

“Next week there are a few more that will be checked. LIB Operations Director, then the deputy for security and safety from PSSI, then from the Indosiar side because it holds Indosiar's broadcasting rights, then the general coordinator of the organizing committee," said Dedi, Wednesday, October 12, 2022.
