Indonesian Judicial Commission Ready to Handover Data Regarding Supreme Court Corruption Case to KPK

JAKARTADAILY.ID – The Indonesian Judicial Commission (KY) said in a statement that it is ready to submit data to the corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) if other indications of corruption are found within the Supreme Court (MA).

The Judicial Commission will submit the data after completing the trial of the alleged ethical violation against Supreme Court Judge Sudrajad Dimyati and the judicial judge who is also the substitute clerk for Supreme Court Elly Tri Pangestu.

"Based on the MOU that has been built by KY and the KPK, we will exchange data," said KY Chairman Mukti Fajar Nur Dewata, at the KPK Building, Monday, September 26, 2022.

Mukti said that the KPK gave KY the opportunity to examine allegations of ethical violations committed by Supreme Court Judge Dimyati and other Supreme Court staff members.

Mukti added that it is possible that his party will examine other supreme judges in the Supreme Court.

"So we start with what the KPK has done, then from there we can move on and once again that KY will move in the area of ​​ethics," he said.

"It is a possibility that (the case) will develop (to involve) other judges who not be in the jurisdiction of the KPK, but within the jurisdiction of the Judicial Commission," Mukti explained.

He added that both the KPK and KY have coordinated and corresponded in order to exchange data regarding the case. 

"Including from the KPK to KY and KY to the KPK. For example, in the ethical examination, we found that there were indications of a criminal act of alleged corruption, so we will submit it to the KPK," he continued.

"And vice versa, the examination of criminal acts of corruption but there is an ethical element, it will be submitted to KY," he concluded.
