Three Men Arrested for Selling Firearms and Ammunition to the Armed Criminal Group in Papua

JAKARTADAILY.ID – The Cartenz 2022 Peace Operations Task Force arrested three people involved with the Armed Criminal Group (KKB) in Intan Jaya, Mimika regency, Papua. one of them being the Chairman of the West Papua National Committee (KNPB).

The Papua Regional Police Spokesperson, Chief Commissioner Ahmad Mustofa Kamal said the arrests of the three suspects with the initials YA, MN, and BK began with the procurement of information about a planned transaction of firearms and ammunition.

"After receiving information regarding the planned firearms and ammunition transaction by the KKB Intan Jaya network in Mimika Regency, the team immediately carried out an investigation into the perpetrators," said Kamal in a press statement quoted on Monday, September 26, 2022.

"After successfully gathering information, the team immediately moved and arrested the perpetrators of MN in Mimika Regency," he continued.

Furthermore, from the development carried out by suspect MN, the police again arrested two other suspects, namely BK and YA in Kebun Sirih, Mimika Regency.

“The two suspects were arrested at different locations. Where the suspect MN was successfully secured in SP 5 in front of the old Regent's Office and YA was secured at his residence in Kebun Sirih, "he said.

From YA's arrest, the police secured 4 mobile phones, a black side bag, 2 black plastic bags, and 95 yellow sharp ammunition with a green stripe of 5.56 caliber, 18 yellow rubber ammunition with a 7.62 TK pin, and 9 pieces of iron. ammo rail bearing pin K50.
